The Migration Agents Registration Authority helps to uphold the position of Australia’s

migration agents as amongst the most professional in the world by ensuring that they

have high level knowledge of Australian migration law and procedures, as well as

meeting high professional and ethical standards.

 

In Australia, migration agents must be registered with the MARA in order to provide immigration assistance services.

About the MIA

"The Migration Institute of Australia is the professional association for Australian Migration service providers worldwide working together for the benefit of Australia."

The MIA represents over 1,500 registered migration agents who provide professional migration services to families, businesses and industries throughout Australia.

We liaise with government departments on behalf of our members providing a forum for communication and a platform for submissions on aspects of migration policies and programs.

All MIA members undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD), a training program initiated by the MIA to promote a high standard of excellence in education and services in the Migration Industry.

We set and administer standards for the conduct of members who commit to operate in accordance with our Code of Ethics.

The Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs appointed MIA as the Migration Agents Registration Authority in March 1998.
